My Approach to beekeeping and honey processing

Uncle Harvey’s pure raw honey is of the highest quality and special care is taken in every step of the processing to deliver the highest quality Raw Honey.  The beehives are kept under old world techniques (early 1900’s) that I learned from my Uncle and Historical Books.

During the late 1980s, a mite was introduced into the United States causing stress on the colonies, killing many honeybees.  Most beekeepers try and kill the mites by applying organic acids or pesticides inside the hive.

My honeybees have never been treated.  This is a treatment free beekeeping operation.  No pesticides have ever been introduced into the hives.  I rely on the genetics of the honeybee to overcome this pest on its own. (Host/Pest relationship)

Processing of the Honey = Honey frames are collected in the late summer and are spun in a Food Grade stainless steel extractor.  Honey is then strained, not filtered, in stainless steel screens to remove any large pieces of wax.  Honey is then stored in Food Grade buckets until bottling.  I then use high quality glassware to bottle the honey.  Special care has been taken in every step of the process to deliver the highest quality raw honey.
